This is a cross cultural coffee training program for young people from different backgrounds executed in two phases.

 

The first phase of this training program will be based in both Tanzania and Kenya. With students getting practical and technical experience in both locations.

This will involve students travelling to Colombia to get a practical experience and know how of the industry in Colombia followed by the offer of a 6-12 months internship in any of the partner organizations.

 

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

The TRAINING will run for 9 months per year. The first 6 months of each year will be held in  Tanzania & Kenya

 (Jan – June).

In the fall we will offer a 3 month consolidated training in Colombia (Sept - Nov). With the opportunity for trainees to visit a consuming country as they head out to Colombia that way exposing trainees to consumer BEHAVIOR and other aspects that drive the demand within the industry.

We expect to have trainees from a variety of backgrounds, all with different skill levels. The project aims to help trainees see how and where their skills and personalities  will fit within the coffee industry.

 

The training will consist of theory and hands-on learning at various select locations ranging from APK facilities in Tanzania, Vava Coffee field operations and retail in Kenya and in phase 2 a feel of the operations at Oro Molido in Colombia.

RECRUITEMENT

The program is designed to accommodate 10 - 20 trainees each term as we launch the pilot in 2018 thereafter scaling up in years to come to accommodate more applicants.

We will promote the project to trainees through social media channels, our websites, local coffee business’, trade shows and other media.

Trainees will submit an online application, and will be interviewed  to determine eligibility.

WE WILL ACCOMMODATE TRAINEES OF VARIOUS INCOME LEVELS THROUGH SPONSORSHIP AND COST WAIVERS.
